The SeaMonkey project is a community effort to develop the SeaMonkey all-in-one internet application suite (see below). Containing an Internet browser, email & newsgroup client, HTML editor, IRC chat and web development tools, SeaMonkey is sure to appeal to advanced users, web developers and corporate users.
Under the hood, SeaMonkey uses much of the same Mozilla source code which powers such successful siblings as Firefox, Thunderbird, Camino, Sunbird and Miro. Legal backing is provided by the Mozilla Foundation.

It can play almost any video file and offers over 6,000 free internet TV shows and video podcasts.
Miro has a simple, gorgeous interface designed for fullscreen HD video. Since Miro downloads most videos, you can take your shows with you, even on an airplane. Quite simply, Miro is a better way to watch all the video you care about.
Best of all, Miro is 100% free and open source, developed by a non-profit organization and volunteers around the world.
Unlike your browser, Miro's built for HD.
The built-in Miro Guide connects you to thousands of free High Definition video shows. Miro downloads video fast and stores it on your local computer for a level of quality that is often impossible on streaming video websites (even the ones that call themselves 'HD').
Can't open a video? Now you can, with Miro.
Miro can play virtually any type of video file - Quicktime, WMV, MPEG, AVI, XVID, and more.
When it comes to video podcasts, Miro goes far beyond iTunes by letting you subscribe to BitTorrent RSS feeds, with one of the fastest torrent downloaders in the
world (it's called 'libtorrent').
Instead of separate programs...
for downloading torrent files and then watching them, Miro is one integrated experience. And Miro makes BitTorrent RSS dead simple-- when a new episode is available, it will download automatically and be ready to watch.
If you are trying to teach someone how to use BitTorrent, Miro is the easiest place to start. And Miro's torrent performance is powered by the screamingly fast open-source libtorrent engine, which is why we're also a favorite of hard-core torrenters.
Search, download, and save videos...
from YouTube, Google Video, Blip, and more. You can even save a search term and automatically get new videos as they are posted.
With YouTube's new HD support, the video quality
can be incredible.
A Gorgeous Interface
miro has a unique, elegant, and seamless user interface that makes watching internet tv easier than ever.
The Most Shows
miro works with the open internet to bring you everything. the built-in content guide has thousands of free video feeds (many in HD) and streaming video sites.
Open and Not-for-Profit
miro is open source software, built by a non-profit organization; we are 100% committed to supporting users and creators join in.
Resume from Where You Stopped
Miro will remember where you stopped watching a video and will start at that point when you play it again.
Play Almost Anything
Forget about the format wars. Miro can play MPEG, Quicktime, AVI, H.\264, Divx, Windows Media, Flash Video, and almost every other major video format.
One After Another
Set your Miro preferences to either play videos one after another (in the order they appear) or to play a video then stop. If you have Miro set to play videos one after another, you can always right-click on an individual video and have it play then stop.
Keyboard Shortcuts
Keyboard shortcuts for all the key playback commands makes it easy to configure a remote control.
Simple Disk Management
Simply tell Miro to reserve a certain amount of space on your hard drive and it will stop downloading new videos when it reaches that limit.
Auto-Expire
After you watch a video on a channel, it will stick around for a few days and then delete itself. You can choose to keep it permanently if you like and you can set the channel to save every video permanently, but most of the time we think you'll want to keep fresh stuff coming in and old stuff going out.
Video RSS
Video RSS feeds are at the core of our vision for internet TV. They provide a simple system that any publisher can use to distribute their content. Viewers can bring feeds from anywhere together into one place. Miro is compatible with more feeds than any other video app.
Auto-Download
Set any channel to download new videos as soon as they are published. You can also tell Feeds to stop downloading new stuff if unwatched videos are piling up.
Sites Section
A new sites section lets Miro work seamlessly with the web.
Watch Streaming Shows
You can now add shows from sites like Hulu to your Miro sidebar, in the new 'Sites' section. This lets you have all your shows-- streaming or download-- in one place. We've add a new section in the Miro Guide, listing the most popular streaming shows on the web.
Download Directly Into Miro
You can also add other types of sites to your sidebar like LegalTorrents.com or Archive.org. Browse the website as usual and whenever you click on a .torrent or an .mp4 file (or any other video file that Miro supports), the video will download automatically in Miro. It makes browsing, downloading, and watching video seamless.
Search Millions of Videos
Miro can search and download from the biggest video sites including YouTube, Yahoo!, Google Video, Blip, and more.
Alternate Channel Guides
Maybe the best thing about the Miro Guide is that it doesn't lock you in. Anyone can create an alternative guide of videos and feeds and you can add that guide to your Miro.
